You do an incredibly good job of explaining the nature of logographic writing systems, and you discuss the two examples (Sumerian and Chinese) with a strong understanding of the concepts and of the texts you refer to. Also, you rely on many more than the required two sources. I think you used 6. What's more, you bring in the controversy about which system is the better one for readers: alphabetic writing systems or logographic writing systems. That really enriches your essay. it does go beyond the maximum word count, but I have no interest in penalizing for that. Your prose style is clear and accessible and you have a good command of academic prose conventions. Grade: A+
