I am relatively sure that most of the ideas you report on were new to you this semester. Yet you have managed to pack many concepts and theories into your essay. You have explained the concepts clearly and you have combined several related ideas into an essay that is longer than the required maximum length of 1,500 words. Are you aware that your essay is more than 1,788 words? I don't want to penalize you for the longer length and I don't want you to rewrite. Just pay attention to the length requirements in future assignments. Your essay is a complicated combination of many ideas, from the evolution of writing systems to the Great Divide Theory. Solid A level work. The grade is an A.
